Therapeutic treatment may utilize several different modalities during a session. Modalities used include cognitive behaviour therapy, family systems theory, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), interpersonal and social rhythm therapy (IPSRT), exposure response prevention (ERP), narrative therapy, and brief solution focused therapy to help clients overcome mental health concerns.

See below for additional information.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy treatment that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional disturbance resulting from distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy has been proven to provide psychotherapy benefits that once took years to accomplish and may eliminate the effects of post-traumatic stress and anxiety.

Occupationally Aware Healthcare

Occupational stress injury is not an illness but may disrupt your everyday functioning. I am specifically trained to understand and support the unique world and stressors of military and first responders. Building on your strength and resiliency, together we can take important steps towards establishing renewed health and well-being.

Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy

It is my privilege to support individuals and families supporting loved ones or personally suffering with mood and psychosis disorders, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and neurological issues. Therapeutic interventions include interpersonal and social rhythm therapy (IPSRT), while following and applying up-to-date research and interventions.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

DBT combines cognitive-behavioural therapy with the dialectic of acceptance and change, using recognition, acceptance, and tolerance of powerful emotions to encourage new skills and changed behaviours. With a focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation, DBT offers balanced thinking and interpersonal success.

Exposure and Response Prevention

ERP therapy has been proven to be the most effective therapy to reduce the experience of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) when combined with EMDR. While obsessive thoughts may stimulate compulsive behaviour or rituals, ERP can provide a gradual reduction in exposure to stimuli in order to break the OCD cycle by reducing distressing thoughts or feelings.

Christian Counselling

With a Master of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary, I provide Christian counselling on request. My Christian counselling approach is guided by a Biblical worldview to provide hope and healing to clients seeking wisdom from God's Word. As a Prepare-Enrich facilitator, I also offer premarital counselling and marriage check-ups on a multi-faith basis.
